Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, Puy-deDomme France in August 9th 1976. Audrey Tautou is the fourth child of 4 children. She was encouraged by her parents, a dentist and a teacher and both of them were teachers. They encouraged her to pursue her passion for the theatre. It was in stark contrast to an earlier desire to pursue a career as a primateologist since she was a fan of monkeys. Her fame grew as a child actor quickly and enjoyed enormous success. Following her studies in 1998 she took part in a French program for scouting talent on TV called Jeunes Premiers sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to launching her acting career in earnest. While she attended the Institut Catholique de Paris and was a member of the church during her childhood, Tautou is now averse to her religious upbringing and has stated that she is not officially Catholic. Her acting and modelling careers have been interspersed. Tautou was the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc Chanel, and is known as the Chanel Muse. Apart from her acting career, she has an interest in photography. The actress recently showed some images at the Arles Film Festival under the title Superficial. Her photography is focused on celebrity, fame and the media who scrutinized her following her emergence on the scene as Amelie. Also, she has numerous photographs of her self. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and global fame after her first big role, starring in the role of The Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Pouulain. Amelie received international recognition due to its success at the box office. It also received praise in award ceremonies all over the globe. The film is still the highest-grossing French film of the French language across the US. Following this success Tautou starred in numerous film productions ranging from British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche of fiancailles. She then moved to Hollywood through Ron Howard's direction of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
