Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American dancer, actress and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. She began her Broadway career with musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. in You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in a Play. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford has spent the majority of her career collaborating with acclaimed actors and directors across the stage, film and TV and she will continue that work with several upcoming projects. Ashford's next project will be an exclusive Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently in the making for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. The film is an Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford will return to Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), exactly the same group that created Hamilton is directing the show. Ashford's most recent performance was Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on a National scandal that featured Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp. She was in two seasons of popular CBS comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not familiar with Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as along with Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character of Essie. Also, she has been on Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original character in the role of Lauren In Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for a Tony Award. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver and was raised in Denver.
